Show features such as the Dieline conference, Packaging News Theatre and the Keynote programme were constantly busy on the first day with visitors captivated by talks from the likes of Harrods’ Ann Dunne and MP Mark Pawsey while exhibitors were kept busy on the stands, showcasing a variety of impressive new packaging products and services.

During his interview with the FPA’s Martin Kersh, Mark Pawsey, MP and chair of the All Party Parliamentary Packaging Manufacturing Group, said: “The UK packaging manufacturing industry has a turnover of £11bn, generating 85,000 jobs, which is 3 percent of the UK’s total manufacturing workforce. This shows just how important the of role packaging is within the UK, and does not get the credit it deserves, so I am here to stand up and say well done…
